Heard a story today about Joaquin Murieta…a wealthy Mexican man living in California in the late 19th century. His family was killed and his wife was raped and skinned by jealous American gold miners. He then went on a rampage and killed the men involved carving M’s into their foreheads. He is the inspiration for Zorro. Found this free online PDF book about him here.
